In association with bike week and Wicklow Local Sports Partnership we will be launching grass track racing in Arklow. This is the clubs first year running it and will be ran over an 8 week period at first.The launch night will be Friday 28th of June at 7pm at the playing field behind the leisure centre sports hall.It will take place every Thursday after this at 7-8pm.The first night will involve some bike handling on the grass track and lap timing to group the riders. The SERC Summer league round 3 kicks off this Wednesday evening 19th June. Sign on starts at Hayes Transport Scarnagh at 6.15 with the race starting at 7pm sharp. In the final race of the Gorey league, Luke kearney – SERC took the win with over a minute to spare. Brendan Dunne – Slipstream finished 2nd, with Frank Dunne – Rossbury racing coming in 3rd. The overall league was won by Andy maguire – Bioracer DHL, Frank Dunne finished 2nd, with Brendan Dunne placing 3rd. In the A4 league Neil Doyle finished 1st overall, with David murphy – Rossbury racing coming 2nd, and Jason o’Toole – SERC finishing 3rd.
Thursday 30th May Thursday will be the last race in the Gorey league for this year. Sign on at 6:15pm at Gorey business park and the race will start at 7:15pm sharp All racers must produce their cycling Ireland license at sign on. This weeks race is not on the marshal plan so if anyone is available to help out it would be very much appreciated, please let us know.
