Big racing news over the weekend. Connor was second in the youth Leinster championships, he was just half a bike “short” of 1st place. Nevertheless a great podium finish. His role model Ronan was 2nd A2 in kilmessan in the A1/2/3 mixed raced on a super fast circuit.. Tony and Luke finished safely in the bunch after Luke was in the break until the last lap when there was numerous attacks.Jay went up north to the John beggs on Saturday where it rained all day on a tough circuit. Jason o toole also took part after his recent result in […]

MTB Endurance Race

A little piece from club member Ian on a recent MTB endurance race. Long range weather forecast was mixed – but it ended up being beach weather all weekend, including 33C on the drive from the ferry to Plymouth. Great social night on the Thursday with a crew we know well from the Isle of Man and some reprobate from Giant Dublin (Ger – part machine, part robot and his better half).I wanted to hit 100 miles (13 laps – about 55 mins a lap) and Conor wanted to ride and enjoy the course for as long as possible (because […]

SERC Summer League 2019

After five rounds of competitive racing in the A1, A2 and A3 category Conor Short of the South East Road Club claimed the top spot on the podium without having to put in too much effort in the final round. Shorts nearest rival for the top prize, Paul Byrne was unable to race on the night, so on paper it was between Short and Andy McGuire from the Rossbury racing club in Newross, however paper never refused ink and as the race unfolded Short only had to stay out of trouble to claim the overall title. With just over a […]
