Sam in action
Congratulations to all our Junior members who were present yesterday and had the privilege of riding with the current Irish Under 23 road champion, Sam Bennett.
The weather gods were shining down on us as we got a perfect dry day for the spin with Sam.
The day started out in the Arklow Bay Hotel at 10.30.
Sam then led the group out on a 3 lap easy spin in and around the back roads of Arklow, with each junior member ,from all 3 clubs getting a chance to ride out in front with Sam,who imparted his Knowledge and gave great encouragement to our future stars in the making.
After the spin it was back to the Arklow Bay Hotel, where Sam gave an informal talk to the lads all about his experiences so far ,from Junior level up to his current pro level with the An Post Sean Kelly team.
It was great to see a rider of his calibre taking time out to take the lads out on the spin and talk so openly to them.
Thanks to all club members who gave up their time to help out on the ride,Derrick,Garrett,Matt,Wayne,Willie and Mick.
A special thanks to Derek Webb for organising the day.
Thanks to all our friends who came up from Slaney CC and Wexford Wheelers as well.
