About
History
The South East Road Club was formed in 2004 by a group of cycling enthusiasts from Arklow and Gorey. The catchment area for members extends from south Wicklow and north Wexford. The old Avondale Bark Cycling Club was one of the most successful in the country prior to its disbandment and won many all Ireland championships at all levels. These included Declan Byrne from Wexford road, Simon Murray from Knockenrahan, Wyane Byrne from Rathdrum. One member Declan Doyle from Fernhill went onto race as a semi-professional in America.
Membership
Membership of the club is open to anyone from the age of 12 upwards. The club is affiliated to Cycling Ireland for insurance and the club has a Child Protection Policy in place. There are no membership fees for under eighteens.
Training spins
The club organises a separate weekly tour for both beginners and experienced cyclists.
Arklow

Requirements
Anyone wishing to partake in either of the group tours should have a mechanically sound bicycle and a CYCLING HELMET. Please note that the pace of the group will be set with all participants in mind and nobody will be left behind.
