We would like to remind all riders and clubs that this year as part of our Youth Track Championships we will be hosting separate categories for female rides at U12/U14 and U16 across the three track events of Sprint, Short TT and Scratch Race and we would like to see more young female riders come to learn the skills and race track. The numbers already warrant this but like all aspects of women’s cycling we would like to see this category grow and develop. You have already seen Irish riders like Caroline Ryan and Jenifer O’Reilly and indeed the Women’s Team Pursut squad compete in televised World Cups, European and World Championships and we need to start training the young riders now who will follow in their footsteps.
How do you start?
Come to our Open Day this coming Saturday or indeed any Accreditation day listed on the calendar on www.trackcycling.ie. We have plenty of bikes and cost just €2 for a youth rider to hire one. Our bikes are fitted with either Look Delta or Toestrap pedals. We teach the skill from scratch in a relaxed but progressive way and we will teach you to be competent and safe…………then we will work on getting you fast!

National Bike Week 2011 will run from the 18th – 26th of June.
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote cycling in the area, the North Wexford Cycle Campaign in conjunction with Revolve Bike Shop and Derek Webb will run a series of events throughout
National Bike Week.
Our aim will be to raise awareness and promote cycling as both a pastime and as a viable means of travel.
This was a six week league with 52 women riding. In this there was an A race and a B race , Becky rode the B race with 27 riders of all ages from 14 to 40 years, as the weeks went on Becky became very strong and started moving up positions, last nights crit Becky and two others attacked and got away and along the way she picked up two prems and the field was closing in with two laps to go they only had 10 seconds of a gap and Becky took a fine second place in the sprint. This put becky into a fine 5th place overall in the league..
Race details to be confirmed closed to the time of the event.
In the meantime, please address all queries to Race Director: Karl Bracken @ (086)0589210 & Matt Heaney @ (087) 6733999.

Congrats to our friends in Slaney CC who ran yet another magnificent event this year. Everything was spot on, plenty of parking, plenty of food, stewards, cars and help to ensure all riders got home safe. Well done to our own riders, Gerry Hanratty, James Browne, Jonny Halford, Mick O’Neill, John Canavan, Wayne Byrne,Paul O’Shea, Mick Sheils, Mick Considine and especially to our 2 new members MAria Byrne and Donnacha Kenny who also did well and completed the course.
